CITB Medium Rigid (MR) Licence Training

Competency Standards

Our training course covers two key competency standards:

  • TLIC3003 - Drive a Medium Rigid Vehicle
  • TLILIC2015 - Licence to Drive a Medium Rigid Vehicle

Prerequisites

To enrol in our MR Licence course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have held a Class C (Car) licence for a minimum of 12 months (including P plates).
  • If your South Australian licence has been held for less than 12 months, you must provide evidence of holding an overseas licence.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Drive a medium rigid vehicle safely and effectively.
  • Monitor traffic and road conditions to ensure safe driving.
  • Monitor and maintain vehicle performance to comply with safety standards.

Course Objectives

This unit is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to drive a medium rigid vehicle safely and competently. The course is in accordance with the licence requirements and regulations of the relevant state or territory roads and traffic authority for medium rigid vehicles.

CITB Member Rebates

CITB Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence Training

Our CITB Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive heavy rigid vehicles safely and competently. With a focus on practical, hands-on learning, this course ensures you are prepared to meet all relevant state and territory road and traffic regulations.

Competency Standard:

  • TLIC3004: Drive Heavy Rigid Vehicle
  • TLILIC2016: Licence to Drive a Heavy Rigid Vehicle

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 19 years
  • Must have held a class car licence for at least two years (including 'P' plates) or a class LR or MR licence for at least one year.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Safely drive a heavy rigid vehicle.
  • Monitor and respond to traffic and road conditions effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of your vehicle.

Course Objectives:

This unit covers the essential skills and knowledge required to operate a heavy rigid vehicle safely. It includes understanding and adhering to the relevant state and territory roads and traffic authority licence requirements and regulations for heavy rigid vehicles.

CITB Heavy Combination (HC) Licence Training

Competency Standards:

  • TLIC3005: Drive Heavy Combination Vehicle
  • TLILIC3017: Licence to Drive a Heavy Combination Vehicle

Prerequisites:

To enrol in this course, learners must:

  • Have held a class MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) licence for at least one year.
  • Possess a current South Australian (SA) driver's licence.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Safely drive a heavy combination vehicle.
  • Monitor traffic and road conditions effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain vehicle performance to ensure safety and efficiency.

Course Objectives:

This training unit provides the essential skills and knowledge required to operate a heavy combination vehicle safely. You will learn to handle various driving conditions and perform routine checks to maintain optimal vehicle performance.

Rebates Available:

A CITB eligible person may qualify for a CITB subsidy of up to $900 upon successful completion of this course. This benefit significantly reduces the cost of obtaining your HC licence, making it more accessible to those in the construction industry. Important Adelaide Truck Training Centre Information

CITB rebates only apply upon successful completion of any truck licening course.

Please be aware that if the course is not completed, CITB rebates will not be applicable. Consequently, the full course costs for any CITB discounted course will be incurred and must be paid in full. We will reissue your invoice to reflect these changes.
